This is great news. Well, it is for the consumer looking to possibly save a few dollars on a national name brand such as Scott Kay (if indeed they can). I understand that the price points for the BioBlu27 cobalt wedding rings will be reasonable. But how will this affect the many independent jewelry stores that currently carry this product line? Will the other merchandise available in Helzberg Diamonds jewelry stores be EXACTLY the same as what they carry? Or is there a wedding ring or jewelry product line that is exclusive to Helzberg Diamonds only? I guess only time will tell. Hopefully all wedding ring and jewelry price points will match, so that the independent jewelry retailers that carry Scott Kay will not get hurt. In this tough economy, they need all the help that they can get.

Unfortunately the Scott Kay offered as Helzberg is a lower quality than the pieces previously available at independent retailers. Scott Kay raised their prices with independents to the point where the product no longer made sense. They, like many others have taken a solid name brand and cheapened it to customers that might not know better.
