The price of gold is getting higher and staying high. As of Octorber 12, 2010, the current gold price is $1349.80, while the price of platinum is $1689.00. Just a few hundred dollars separates what is probably the most historic metal in the jewelry industry from what is the premium metal for wedding rings today. With the price of gold being so close to the price of platinum, wouldn’t it make sense to invest in the one metal that is naturally white and more durable? Then that would be platinum! Obviously gold is your only choice if you are looking for a yellow colored wedding ring. But if you are torn between white gold and platinum, then you may wish to consider that with a little more investment, platinum is worth the price.
