The Wedding Ring Blog
Editorial & Advertising Policy
The Wedding Ring Blog is an independent editorial publication. This policy explains how we approach sourcing, corrections, commercial relationships, affiliate links, historical URLs and visual material.
Editorial purpose
Our editorial priority is usefulness to readers. We publish wedding-ring and engagement-ring guidance, jewellery explainers, ring news and culture, and selected supporting wedding content. Articles are planned around a clear reader question or editorial purpose rather than being published solely to create volume.
Research and sourcing
For technical, legal or regulated subjects, we prefer primary or authoritative sources where available. Examples include UK hallmarking guidance, Assay Office information, gemmological guidance and official designer or brand information.
For current celebrity and event coverage, we distinguish between:
- Confirmed information from the person, designer, jeweller, official representative or clear primary evidence.
- Reported information from a named publication or journalist.
- Estimates or speculation, such as third-party price or carat estimates, which should be attributed and not presented as established fact.
When an article is commentary based on another publication’s reporting, we identify and link to that source. We do not reproduce another publication’s article or photography without permission or an appropriate licence.
Corrections and updates
We correct factual errors when we become aware of them. Material changes to current-news coverage should be reflected in the article’s updated date where appropriate. We do not change dates merely to make old content look new.
Annual or time-specific pages, such as a 2026 celebrity-ring roundup, should remain an archive of that year once the year has ended rather than being silently converted into a different year’s article.
Historical Wedding Ring Blog URLs
The domain has genuine historical references and backlinks from its earlier life. A small number of Blogger-era URLs are intentionally preserved. Modern copy on those URLs is newly written unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Preserving an old address does not mean the present article was continuously published or maintained since the original date. Where useful, we include an archive note explaining why the historic path remains live.
Commercial relationships
The Wedding Ring Blog may work with relevant wedding, jewellery and lifestyle businesses. Commercial relationships can include advertising, sponsorship, affiliate links and partner references.
A commercial relationship does not buy a favourable editorial conclusion and does not determine unrelated coverage. Sponsored placements should be identified clearly enough that a reader can understand the relationship.
Affiliate links
Some links may earn the site a commission if a reader makes a qualifying purchase. Affiliate links should be marked appropriately, including rel="sponsored nofollow noopener" where applicable.
We do not publish hard-coded retailer prices, stock claims or star ratings that can become inaccurate. Where Amazon Associates links are used, the site should retain the required Associate disclosure and place a clear disclosure near the relevant commercial module.
Affiliate modules are secondary to editorial usefulness. The flagship Wedding Ring Guide should not be designed around affiliate products.
Commercial partners
Luxedo Suits and That British Tweed Company may be referenced in weddingwear content where the relationship is relevant to the article. Those links are commercial and should be identified as such. User-supplied partner imagery is not presented as independent editorial photography.
Images and licensing
Our preferred visual hierarchy is:
- Real photography used under an appropriate licence.
- Properly licensed or public-domain event and celebrity photography where editorially relevant.
- Original diagrams and explanatory graphics.
- User-supplied commercial images for clearly relevant partner content.
We avoid generic artificial wedding photography where it could mislead a reader into believing a fictional scene is documentary or editorial photography. For licensed images, source and licence details should be retained in the media record or an internal image register.
Reviews and product recommendations
We should not describe a product as tested, reviewed or personally recommended unless it has actually been evaluated on that basis. Marketplace examples may be used to illustrate a style or design category, but that is different from an endorsement.
Health, legal and financial information
Articles discussing sensitive skin, insurance, consumer law or similar subjects are general information, not personalised professional advice. Medical symptoms should be assessed by an appropriate health professional, and insurance cover is governed by the wording of the reader’s own policy.
