A wedding ring should not need to look new forever. Scratches and patina are normal signs of wear. Maintenance is about keeping the ring structurally sound and comfortable.

Stone-set bands need extra attention
If a ring catches on clothing, receives a hard knock or begins to rattle, stop wearing it and have the setting checked.
